Teeth Whitening Aftercare

• For the first 24–48 hours, limit dark or highly pigmented foods and drinks that may stain your teeth.
• Choose lighter-colored foods such as chicken, turkey, white fish, white rice, pasta, potatoes, bananas, and other lightly colored foods.
• Avoid coffee, tea, red wine, dark sodas, energy drinks, berries, tomato-based sauces, beets, soy sauce, and other strongly colored foods or beverages.
• Avoid smoking, vaping, and tobacco products for at least 24–48 hours, as they can contribute to staining.
• Temporary tooth sensitivity may occur after whitening. Avoid extremely hot or cold foods and drinks if your teeth feel sensitive.
• Limit highly acidic foods and beverages such as citrus fruits, lemonade, vinegar, and acidic sodas if they cause sensitivity.
• Drink plenty of water and rinse your mouth with water after consuming foods or beverages that may stain.
• Continue brushing and flossing normally, but brush gently if your teeth or gums are sensitive.
• Use a toothpaste designed for sensitive teeth if needed.
• Avoid colored lipstick immediately after your treatment if it may transfer onto the teeth. A clear or smudge-resistant product is a better option.
• Maintain your results with good oral hygiene and whitening touch-ups only as recommended.
• Contact your dentist if you experience severe pain, significant gum irritation, or sensitivity that does not improve.
• Brush twice daily and floss regularly.
• Limit frequent coffee, tea, red wine, tobacco, and other common staining products.
• Rinse with water after consuming staining foods or drinks.
• Use a straw for beverages that may stain when appropriate.
• Keep up with routine dental cleanings.
